Background
Christie is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) and a master's in nursing education. Christie spent the first thirty years of her nursing career practicing in rural Oklahoma. Her experiences include emergency room and urgent care. She and her husband, Rick, owned and operated a home health and hospice agency, a Medicaid Waiver home-based service program, and a busy primary care clinic before liquidating and making their move to Alaska in 2020.
Christie works remotely as a course coordinator and full-time graduate faculty for a prestigious FNP program in Massachusetts. She also works remotely as an adjunct faculty for a FNP program in California.
Christie enjoys reading, cooking/baking, traveling, photography, fishing, and kayaking. She and Rick have six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two bonus grandchildren. She is thankful for FaceTime!
